His statement came a day after BJP workers threw a slipper at Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan’s car at Madurai airport as he was returning from paying final respects to a man’s remains. of the army who died in Rajouri’s terrorist attack on a military camp on Thursday. .

Stalin said the incident was intended to create “cheap publicity” by a group of BJP cadres accompanied by party chairman K Annamalai. In his statement warning BJP cadres, Stalin said the minister was attacked after questioning BJP members who went against government protocol and the decorum of an event honoring a martyr. He said the attack revealed the “false patriotism” of BJP cadres.

The Chief Minister also mentioned P Saravanan, the former BJP leader in Madurai, who on Saturday night apologized to the Minister himself for the unfortunate incident. Following the meeting, Saravanan was expelled from the BJP.
