Ashley Benson Boosts Sheer Tights With Black Leather Platform Boots – Footwear News
Ashley Benson brought a giddy twist to the fall layering this weekend.
The ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star took to Instagram on Saturday to share her latest nonchalantly fashionable outfit: an oversized black Dolce and Gabbana blazer, effortlessly updated with rolled-up sleeves. Paired with the jacket is a mini dress with a low curved neckline and thigh-high hemline, accentuated by a straight triangle slit. Benson’s Jessica Paster style ensemble was completed with a set of sheer black Wolford tights, adding a sultry, more covering layer to her ensemble; similar pairs were also worn in layered looks by Kylie and Kris Jenner, Dua Lipa and Beyoncé this fall. Benson’s outfit was completed with a Faure Le Page print shoulder bag, gold necklace, thin layered hoop earrings, rings and a chunky gold watch.
As for footwear, Benson continued her all-black history with a set of chunky Versace platform boots. His $1,725 style featured black leather uppers with rounded toes and chunky 2.5-inch flat soles. Flared 5.75-inch block heels finished the pair, giving the star a height boost that also instantly streamlined her outfit.
Platform boots like Benson’s are a fall trend this season, due to their comfortable, supportive silhouettes and height-increasing heels. Styles with block heels have proven to be the most popular, due to their stability. New styles have appeared across a range of brands, including Jessica Simpson, Steve Madden and Saint Laurent. However, other brands have also revamped the style with their own twist – such as Simon Miller, who reintroduced his iconic wedge boots in extended sizes thanks to a partnership with actress Tommy Dorfman this month.
When it comes to footwear, Benson often opts for bold and thought-provoking styles. The ‘Spring Breakers’ actress frequently wears black platform, lug-soled boots and loafers in western and combat silhouettes – to name a few – from a range of brands including Vagabond Shoemakers , AGL, Dr. Martens and Rag & Bone. His casual wardrobe also includes low-top and high-top sneakers from Saint Laurent, Converse and Nike, as well as J/Slides slides. On the red carpet, Benson often opts for similar dark or metallic pumps and pointed-toe sandals from top brands such as Laurent, Manolo Blahnik and Alevi Milano.
