Carhartt Partners with Tractor Supply Company to Bridge Trade Gap with Branded Apparel
Carhartt has teamed up with Tractor Supply Company, a “rural lifestyle retailer,” for a clothing line that draws attention to America’s trade gap.
The “Support the Trades” shirts, co-branded with Carhartt and Tractor Supply, will benefit SkillsUSA, a non-profit organization that serves students in college and above by preparing them for careers in technical and skilled services.
Customers can buy either a charcoal gray long-sleeved t-shirt or a navy blue short-sleeved t-shirt, the profits being donated to SkillsUSA.
Tractor Supply and Carhartt pledged to donate $ 50,000 each, bringing the total donation to SkillsUSA to $ 100,000.
“Tractor Supply, Carhartt, and SkillsUSA all share a common goal: to equip American tradespeople with everything they need to be successful here for a lifetime here, whether it’s training, clothing or equipment,” Jeff Rietveld, vice president and divisional merchandise manager for Tractor Supply, said in a press release. “As the gap in the skilled trades widens, it is more important than ever that we work together to train and help people fulfill these important roles. “
As the most popular workwear and outerwear brands, Carhartt is well positioned for a partnership like this. He’s already done other co-branding projects, like a promotion with Guinness to promote safe ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day during the pandemic.
“For over 20 years, Carhartt has proudly supported SkillsUSA and its role in helping thousands of hard-working people find a rewarding path to the skilled trades each year,” said Janet Ries, vice president of marketing at Carhartt, in a statement. . “We are therefore proud to partner with our friends at Tractor Supply Company to raise funds that will help ensure the future success of the American workforce.”
