On the shoe side, the fashion face wore a pair of what is becoming one of the biggest shoe trends for next spring: the fisherman’s sandal. With wide leather straps and a rounded toe in metallic silver, Max Mara’s shoes feature a T-strap and wooden block heels to give her a slight gladiatorial feel.

Hadid’s Max Mara runway look wasn’t the only matching denim moment of the model’s busy day. She also wore a classic blue denim jacket and jeans as she stepped out of the Alberta Ferretti Spring / Summer 22 show. The decidedly more casual ensemble was paired with classic white Converse sneakers, as well as dark gold-rimmed sunglasses.

Hadid’s shoe choices generally veer on the casual side. She frequently wears sneakers from Nike, Puma and Reebok, which she collaborated with on a capsule collection in 2018. Slides are one of her longtime favorites, which she wears from brands like Adidas, Ugg and Alexander Wang. . However, Hadid is also known for wearing jaw-dropping heels, especially point-toe pumps, boots and strappy sandals from Stuart Weitzman, Christian Louboutin and Giuseppe Zanotti for formal occasions.

This has been an impressive year so far for Maybelline’s muse, who has learned the joys of parenting from her daughter Khai. The model opened and closed Versace’s Fall 2021 show earlier this spring – her first since giving birth – and appeared on the cover of the March issue of “Vogue.” She has also been busy during Fashion Month, most recently appearing in “Savage X Fenty Vol. The 3-inch parade, which begins airing on Amazon Prime Video on September 24.

Munro Footwear Group has committed to a new $ 50 million distribution center in the $ 600 million MidWest logistics center in Truganina, Victoria.

The site is owned by Charter Hall’s flagship $ 8.3 billion Charter Hall Prime Industrial Fund (CPIF) and is located at Founders Place in western Melbourne.

The move comes after Munro and supply chain and real estate consulting TMX undertook a comprehensive review of its warehouse and distribution functions.

The move to the Truganina site from its current space in Thornbury will allow Munro to optimize, integrate and consolidate its national supply chain in a new 26,354m² national distribution center specially designed for its in-store operations and online, for a total area of 49,815 m².

“We are on a high growth trajectory and have made a major investment in optimizing our supply chain operations to support the increase in our in-store and online sales,” said Marcus Bartlett, director of the operation of Munro Footwear Group (MFG).

“This new facility is a key initiative in our multi-year growth plan to develop our business, optimize our customer experience and strengthen our distribution capacity, in particular to support online sales,” he said.

The new site will offer autonomous mobile robot (AMR) solutions with a storage capacity of over 1.2 million units.

The AMRs will allow MFG to absorb the volumes currently handled by external third-party logistics providers.

AMRs will also increase the speed and accuracy of picking, streamlining the productivity and efficiency of operations, while reducing delivery times to customers.

The new facility will help optimize inventory levels, integrate with carriers and improve the customer experience across the group’s 260 stores and 11 e-commerce sites, which MFG says are growing by 25 % per year.

The site was also designed to achieve a minimum of five Green Star stars.

Charter Hall’s Head of Development, Industry and Logistics Andrew Simons has welcomed MFG to the portfolio.

“We are delighted to welcome the Munro Footwear team to our growing portfolio, guaranteeing them an exceptional new facility that provides privileged access to distribution channels, including the Port of Melbourne.

“The integration of leading-edge technology and AMR solutions will ensure that the facility delivers exceptional supply chain efficiency and productivity to Munro’s customers,” he said.

MFG will join existing tenant customers including Coles, Uniqlo, Toll, Ingham’s, Encore Tissue and Bridgestone at the MidWest Logistics Hub.

TMX Director Sam Dellios added that MFG’s new site will greatly benefit the company’s retail and e-commerce operations.

“This new facility will have one of the largest AMR person-to-person deployments in Australia and is an exciting milestone for Munro.

“Munro has seen a strong increase in sales thanks to the recent retail explosion, so our team has designed this new facility to flexibly support Munro’s dynamic growth, both in-store and online,” said he declared.

The site should be operational in the second half of 2022.

Jordyn Woods birthday style is the gift that keeps on giving.

Ahead of her 24th birthday on Thursday, the media personality celebrated early on social media. Just today, Woods shared another party ensemble with two trendy elements. The first was her bodycon dress, with long sleeves, a high slit and ribbing.

Ribbed fabric, like fishnet fabric and crochet knits, is making a comeback on the celebrity style scene; from Kim Kardashian to Nicki Minaj to Kate Hudson, stars across the board are pulling out their best ribbed pieces for fall 21.

Along with her attire, Woods’ shoe choice also offered a head-turning appeal. The sparkling sandals snaked around the mannequin’s feet and ankles, all adorned with pearls and dangling charms. Resting on a raised stiletto heel and round toe, the silhouette resembles René Caovilla’s iconic Cleo sandals, sold for $ 1,630 at Farfetch.

Not the type to wear just any regular shoe, Woods also launched another lively pair earlier this week from Amina Muaddi. The model shared a preview of her birthday style on Instagram over the weekend, hitting Area for her first party look. The risky number featured strategically placed layers of crystal chains forming a spaghetti-style cut and draped silhouette.

When it comes to shoes, Woods has released a set of daring sheer pumps. The pair features a full PVC slingback design with a pointed toe, glitter crystal brooch and signature flare heel. The Amina Muaddi Begum glass pumps, which look like classic Cinderella glass slippers, sell for $ 1,130 at Bergdorf Goodman.

As for Woods herself, the media personality recently launched her own home workout and gym plans titled FrstPlace and made a surprising undercover appearance on Fox’s “The Masked Singer” series. The social media influencer previously partnered with fast fashion brand Boohoo in 2016 and June 2019 for a size-inclusive collection that aligns her message of body confidence with Boohoo’s offerings for women of all shapes. . She also launched a sportswear line including waistline called Secndntur in August 2018.

A Colorado district court judge awarded Crocs a victory in a legal dispute with a longtime competitor.

In a Sept. 14 ruling, U.S. Chief Justice Philip A. Brimmer dismissed claims that Crocs “falsely marketed its shoes” in violation of the Lanham Act, which prohibits trademark infringement, dilution and false advertising.

The lawsuit, filed by Nevada shoe maker USA Dawgs Inc., focused on Crocs’ claims that Croslite was an “proprietary”, “proprietary” or “patented” material. guys alleged that this formulation misled customers into believing that Crocs were made from a material “unlike any other shoe” and that the company “owns the rights” to Croslite, the primary material used to craft Crocs.

In its summary judgment motion, the court ruled that there were “no real questions of material fact” and “no dispute that Crocs produced Croslite and the shoes”. The ruling reinforced Crocs’ position that the complaints filed against the company by Dawgs are without merit.

“Our hope is that the Court’s rejection of Dawgs ‘claims will allow Crocs to focus on the original problem: Dawgs’ blatant disregard for our intellectual property rights to our iconic products,” said Sara Hoverstock, vice president Crocs’ legal statement, in a statement. at the FN. “Crocs intends to exercise all remedies at its disposal in this long-standing matter, in addition to other matters relating to its intellectual property. Crocs will continue to actively assert its rights against third parties who attempt to unfairly undermine the goodwill of the company.

Over the past 15 years, Crocs has been involved in various legal battles with Dawgs. In 2017, Dawgs alleged that Crocs violated his Z-strap sandal style and violated computer fraud laws that helped remove Dawgs products from Zulily, a site owned by QVC.

At the time, Crocs said the complaint was “another attempt to harass Crocs and disrupt its business” with “unfounded and unfounded” allegations. Dawgs voluntarily rejected these claims and his lawyers were penalized for filing frivolous claims.

In August 2016, Dawgs charged 18 former and current Crocs employees and directors with violating antitrust laws to help Crocs gain an unfair advantage in the clog market. Justice Brimmer dismissed most of these claims in 2017.

In 2006, Crocs sued USA Dawgs’ Canadian subsidiary, Double Diamond, for patent infringement on its clog models. Crocs amended this complaint in 2012 and added USA Dawgs as a respondent. This claim is still contested.

Dawgs filed for bankruptcy in 2018 and was acquired by California-based Optimal Investment Group, which then sold the assets of Dawgs’ ongoing litigation with Crocs to Mojave Desert Holdings LLC. Optimal Investment Group declined to comment on any legal proceedings.

Albanian exports increased 22.5% year-on-year in August to reach 24 billion euros (196 million euros), not only to return to the pre-pandemic year, but to exceed their value in July 2019, said the statistics office Instat. During the month, exports were 18.9% above the monthly average for August 2018-2020.

Imports also rebounded, increasing 26.2% year-on-year to ALL61bn, up 23.2% from the previous three August average.

However, trade slowed from July, with exports falling 26.0% month-on-month, while imports were down 15.0%. The trade deficit amounted to ALL37bn.

The main year-over-year increases in exports were recorded in the building materials and metals categories, as well as minerals, fuels and energy. Building materials and metals contributed 17.4 percentage points (pp) to the overall increase in year-on-year exports in August, while minerals, fuels and electricity added an additional 8.0 pp .

However, the 22.3% year-on-year decline in textiles and footwear exports, an important area for Albania, pushed the annual export growth down by 8.7 pp. The sector is still far from returning to pre-pandemic levels.

As bne IntelliNews reported, Albania is a major supplier of clothing and footwear to Italy and other European countries thanks to its relatively low costs, geographic proximity and experience in the sector. However, the industry has been devastated by the pandemic, and continued lockdowns and restrictions through 2021, along with changing consumer behavior, have held back the industry’s recovery.

While the sector’s exports grew 10% year-on-year in the first eight months of 2020, they remained 10.3% lower compared to the same period of 2019.

In contrast, demand for construction materials and metals is high, both in Albania – stimulated by post-earthquake reconstruction – and in international markets. Exports of minerals, fuels and energy were up sharply from the first eight months of 2020, and also up sharply by 41% from 2019.

Meanwhile, food, drink and tobacco exports have been among the least affected by the pandemic, and growth has continued this year after expanding in 2020.

An incredible business partner who has redefined the luxury market. A valuable mentor who “knew everything”. A caring soul and a true friend. For decades, George Malkemus has played a huge role in the lives of so many people in the fashion industry.

Here, the best players in retail and footwear remember the executive, a singular force who died Thursday after a long battle with cancer.

Josh Schulman, CEO, Michael Kors

“George was one of a kind. He was an accomplished gentleman whose warmth and charm belied shrewd tenacity and fierce competitive spirit. During his time at Jimmy Choo, it was a lot of fun competing with George as he set the bar high. And while I was at Bergdorf Goodman, I loved getting to know him better as a business partner and friend.

He could always see one step ahead. He has been at the forefront of transforming the luxury footwear market, dominated by conservative factory brands, to one based on design and personality. Dominating New York catwalks before ready-to-wear brands made their own shoes was a forerunner of today’s collaborative era. His close relationships with wholesale customers and worshiping customers who flocked to the trunk show a customer focus defined long before an algorithm. And he was a pioneer in harnessing the power of celebrity. “

Tracy Margolies, Head of Marketing, Saks

“George was a shining light not only personally, but also professionally. He was a true gentleman who cared deeply for people and their families. He welcomed me into the shoe business early in my career and we spent hours on the floor together reviewing purchases and getting to know each other. He was a caring soul and a true friend, not just a business partner. He will be sorely missed. “

Jeffrey Kalinsky, Founder, Jeffrey

“I met her around 1987. I had just been appointed to buy women’s shoes at Barneys, and Bonnie Pressman told me we were going to lunch with George. It was a very big deal for a new shoe buyer. Manolo Blahnik was still winning, but it was already our most important brand at Barneys. George was a role model for me right away. He was a fantastic businessman, he had incredible tastes, and he lived and was proud to be a gay man, which meant the world to me because I was still struggling with it all. George has become one of my heroes.

In 1990, when I left Barneys to open my store in Atlanta, it was essential that I wear Manolo Blahnik. I knew the store wouldn’t be valid if we didn’t – and it was because of George. For a lot of people in the United States, George was truly the Manolo Blahnik brand.

Georges knew everything. He taught me so much, even things like who to call for flowers. I have learned so much from him. I was so lucky.

Julee Butler, VP and DMM, Women’s Shoes, Neiman Marcus

“George was an amazing business partner and friend. Those of us who had the privilege of working with him recognized how special he really was. His impeccable taste, elegance, love for the product and, above all, the deeply rooted relationships he has maintained have made him a legacy in the industry. Some of my fondest memories were our meetings at the market with George, his team and the merchants Neiman Marcus, where we all sat on the floor in the showroom for hours with hundreds of shoes, materials and goods. color charts, creating magnificent exclusive products. Looking back, it was such a fun, magical and precious time with our beloved George. “

Ken Downing, Creative Director, American Dream; Former Fashion Director, Neiman Marcus

“Gregarious and charismatic, George was a great personality who filled a room with great stories and laughter. Meetings in the showroom have always been more than writing orders with George. My heart is broken, this dear and wonderful man has passed away. But what a legacy he leaves behind: George redefined the designer footwear market, bursting onto the scene with Manolo Blahnik and creating a monumental business that would become the ultimate ‘shoe’ of all time. George was as passionate about his beloved Arethusa Farms as he was about the shoe empire he had created with Manolo, and later with Sarah Jessica Parker. Our industry has lost a legend, a visionary and a true icon.

Behind the design

Volvo Cars emphasizes the safety of people in and out of their cars, and Volvo is now extending this commitment to the environment. Here’s how Casca shoes will reflect sustainability:

THE SOLE – As part of resource conscious reuse, 10% of each sole is made from recycled car tires, which are first used on a Casca shoe.

THE ROD – Each rod is knitted from yarn and made from seven recycled plastic bottles.

HERITAGE – In homage to the collaboration between the two brands, as well as to minimalist and Scandinavian design. The shoe labels each carry a Swedish flag, while the other has a classic Casca yellow pattern.

INFLUENCES – The line art and panels of Casca’s popular Avro silhouette are inspired by the Thor hammerhead lighthouse.

Innovating and moving towards a better future are at the heart of what Volvo Cars and Casca do. As a leader in sustainability, Volvo Cars aims to reduce lifecycle emissions per vehicle by 40% by 2025 and produce only electric vehicles by 2030.
