no-brainer* designs Nike Dunk Low “Bumblee” concept

After introducing a pair of wildly popular “Fujiwara Tofu Shop” concept Dunk Lows inspired by the Toyota AE6 Trueno in Initial Dno hassle* followed several automotive-inspired projects Nike footwear concepts. Designs are inspired by Japanese Bōsōzoku motorcycle culture, custom low riders, Tyler, the designer’s pink Call me if you get lost car, the Suzuki Ninja of A moment of romanceand now the Volkswagen Beetle from Bumblebee (2018).

Arriving in a more minimalistic design compared to previous decal-heavy iterations, No Reflection* dresses pairs in a faded yellow base with hints of black along the collars, laces and pull tabs. Reflecting the aesthetic of the Transformer which presented itself as a yellow desert buggy, the shoes mimic the aesthetic that is in dire need of a wash with pre-distressed sand streaks. Silver Swooshes run along the sides and the Autobots logo is printed on the heel counter. The design is completed with Sand White midsoles and Black rubber outsoles.
