Savic supports men’s health with the launch of winter clothing
Melbourne-based electric motorcycle builder Savic has launched its latest range of winter clothing through its Culture brand. They have also pledged to donate 40% of sales made this week (June 13-19) to Movember in support of Men’s Health Week.
As Savic continues to develop its flagship electric motorcycle, the ‘C-Series’, the apparel brand’s second collection continues to be driven by the conscious use of materials, for its apparel and unboxing experience.
The designs have been meticulously refined to try and capture the culture around the workshop, the Melbourne cityscape and the collective passion for Savic motorcycles. The new range also includes the brand’s first women’s streetwear cropped sweatshirt.
Coming in a cropped fit and an oversized fit, this stylish and durable staple will come in olive green, pastel pink and traditional black. It’s completed with a men’s Flight bomber jacket, featuring a slim fit and an in-house designed print for the inner lining.
“Building the right culture is important to us,” said Savic’s clothing manager, Michael D’Amico.
“Whether it’s the culture we’re building around our workshop or the culture we’re building around the electric motorcycle in Australia, we want to represent and share our values with our customers.”
A Neon Culture long sleeve top is inspired by 206 Bourke Street signage, to capture the Melbourne lifestyle in a bright red print on the back. Each product in the range has also undergone a robust process to ensure the fit and materials used provide longevity.
This was done to avoid the fast fashion mentality, as well as to provide customers with a premium product. Savic is also working to reduce its carbon footprint by switching to recycled polyester for new clothing.
rPET, or polyethylene terephthalate, is a recycled polyester made by melting down old drink bottles, jars and other used plastics to create a soft, durable woven fabric. Its use has allowed Savic to reuse pre-existing waste without compromising quality.
“For our Winter 2022 collection, our cozy puffer jacket and a stylish Flight Bomber are both made from 100% rPET inside and out, and the rest of the garments in the collection have been designed for warmth. and comfort, using a 65% blend of rPET and 35% cotton,” D’Amico said.
“Sustainability is one of our core values and we continue to design and challenge the streetwear scene for a more ethical approach to creating streetwear that our customers are proud to wear.”
