Take a look inside the new SandDancer clothing store when it opens in Ocean Road, South Shields
Now the company has set up a new outlet in the heart of South Shields – and founder Andy Campbell says it has already proven itself with customers.
The brand sells city-inspired caps, hoodies and t-shirts, and Andy told the Gazette how supportive the local community has been since it opened on April 2.
“The new store offers a much better catchment area than our previous one, especially since there will be more footfall and we have already seen this on Saturday and today (Sunday April 3),” said the father of three children.
“The support has been great so far, it’s been quite humbling to see how excited everyone was about us opening up, so that was a good start.
“Our neighbors have also been very welcoming to us and there’s a great community vibe here on Ocean Road.”
Andy also hopes the store’s new location can grow the business even further as it attracts a new range of customers by being on Ocean Road.
He added, “We looked at how to create new products that were more beach-oriented given the new location.
Hopes the new football facilities in Jarrow will encourage more people to get active
“We now look forward to summer and things like music festivals in Bents Park or Great North Run day – they give us opportunities that we didn’t really have at Prospect House in terms of business.
“There’s some potential in creating rain ponchos for music events, because you can never predict the weather, and bed and breakfasts and guesthouses allow us to look for the first time tourism/souvenir market.”
Hours of operation will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, with extended hours 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The company will still maintain a workshop at Prospect House.
